A section of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria led by Sheikh El Zakzaky who is currently being incarcerated by the DSS have staged a massive protest in Gombe State against his detention.
Followers of Zakzaky today, 1st of July, 2016 held a massive protest in Gombe state for the unlawful detention of their leader, Sheikh El Zakzaky for a couple of months by the Nigerian government.
“Since the beginning of the protest in Gombe, we have never seen this type of crowd. Today’s protest is very fierce, both men, women, youth’s, and children.
“They were all carrying Palestine flag and chanting; Death to Israel! Death to America!! Say no to tyranny!!! Free zakzaky!!!! Free Palestine!!!!” a social media user based in the northern part of the country reported.
Most of them were seen dragging flags of the United States of America and Israel on the ground distastefully as they took a long walk round the state.
“As you can see, everybody came out to watch them because of the crowd. We suspect, the Gombe state chapter of Shiite movement brought in brotherhood from other states to join them today” another eye witness reiterated.
Shiite members last year were accused of attempting to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai in Zaria, Kaduna while driving through a road with his convoy.
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria has thereby accused the Nigerian army of killing over 700 of its members who have been allegedly buried in shallow graves.
